I think the most compelling part is that medical evacuations in the United States can cost as much as $300,000! That’s pretty staggering, and if you don’t have insurance, how are you expected to pay it? Even in countries like Bali you can pay in excess of $60,000 to be treated. That really puts a $200 dollar policy in perspective.
Before you go traveling, you really should get a few travel insurance quotes from companies like HBF, and find one that’s best for you. As smartraveller says “If you can’t afford travel insurance, you can’t afford to travel!” And that’s true. Accidents and illness may not be likely, but if something happens it is probably unavoidable and the only thing that can save you from a financial mess is proper coverage before you go.
Don’t take a risk when you travel. Make sure you are insured.
